Rope drop at the Studios

I had a co-worker recently telling me about her trip to Disney World. They seemed to be pretty good planners and tried to maximize their time the best they could.

She was very excited to tell me about her experience riding Midway Mania without a Fast Pass. The got up really early, got to the gates about 45 minutes before they opened and waited in a pretty large crowd. Then they hurried as fast as they could to the ride and the wait was *only* 15 minutes. By the time they got off the line was almost an hour long. There were people all over the place.

I rode the same ride 4 times in about an hour late at night and didn't have to deal with the crowds.

Thats awesome - if you're planning on being in the parks till close. We usually aren't so whether rides are walk on or 90 minute waits are irrelevant to us the second we leave the park.

We like to be in the parks from open until about 3 or 4 then relax/hit the pool and have dinner somewhere, and maybe a drink or 2 before turning in or trying to catch fireworks somewhere. Though, regarding TSMM, I'd much rather FP+ it and hit RnR, TOT, Star Tours, and whatever else instead of running down there.

I remember running with my mom in 1996 when I was about 17. We were laughing and seeing Grandmas running, it was entertaining. That was heading down Main Street to splash mountain. Hate trying to do it with the double stroller now.

Most guests leave the parks well before closing time. That's why the last 3-4 hours of operation is the very best time of the day to hit the headliners multiple times with minimal waits.

I'm curious what the early EMH rope drop looks like at HS? Going in September and have contemplating going there with the early EMH even though I typically go to other parks on those days.

We did it in August and it was calm. Some people were running but mostly teenagers abd they were giggling. Not being pushy or aggressive.

We got tons done by 1030 am. We rode ToY and RnR three times each. I believe we rode TSM twice. Then came back in the evening with our FP+.

we have never rope dropped... my kids are a bit older so sleeping in (ironically, biggest one for sleeping in is the youngest) is nice.

if people are crammed in and shoving, i would probably get mighty cranky quickly. if we go this december, it's certainly something i want to do one day. one, just to say i did. :) and secondly, because we have park hoppers booked this time i will have places to go and things to see! gotta get two parks in! lol!
