Is the first hour after RD still good for riding standby? I recall that at MK we would be able to ride almost everything before 10am on a normal opening day. Many thanks for responding.

Absolutely!!!

At MK we arrived at rope drop and got the following done by 10am
-BTMR twice
-POTC
-Jungle Cruise
-Haunted Mansion
And that was with walking slowly and enjoying the scenery since it was our first day

The second MK day we did
-Space twice
-Astro Orbiter
-Buzz twice
-Pooh
before 10am

Epcot first day (before 10am)
-Soarin' twice (walk on both times)
-LWTL

Epcot second day (before 10am)
-Test Track
-Soarin'
-Nemo

HS (before 10am)
-RNRC
-TOT twice
-Star Tours

I hope that's helpful! Arriving at rope drop is definitely still advantageous!!! All of the mentioned rides were basically walk-ons, 5-10 minute wait at the MOST:thumbsup2!

Can you please clarify what time RD was at each park you mentioned and when your trip was? Thanks!

RD was at 9:00 when I was last at Magic Kingdom, and by 10:00 we had done Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Peter Pan's Flight, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Pirates of the Caribbean. This was on a Sunday in October, so it was pretty busy all day but the standby lines weren't bad at all during that first hour.

Our strategy is to hit as many big rides as possible first thing in the morning and after the fireworks at night, using fastpasses during the middle of the day and doing less popular attractions that typically have short/no lines (Carousel of Progress, Mickey's PhilharMagic, Mad Tea Party, carousel, etc). It's rare that we have lines longer than 20 minutes or so.
