Rooms left at DD Courtyard ($20.03 rate)

I just got off the phone with the reservationist at the Downtown Disney Courtyard-------

with the exception of the week of August 10 (only that Sunday and Thursday are available, Mon-Wed sold out); ALL REMAINING WEEKS HAVE ROOMS LEFT TO BOOK and full week (Sun-Thurs night) availability.

I know some people had expressed concerns about the hotel selling out but as of right now, this minute, they haven't yet.

Thanks for posting that message as I'm sitting here praying that they don't sell out before Monday which is when I can call and reserve my room for the last week in September.

I feel a little better now. I'd feel even better if I could get that room today but sometimes things just don't work out like we would like them too.

Thank you Belle for the tissue. I have composed myself now.

I talked to DH (thank GOD for that man! ) and I have IMed my 2 colleges DDs to ask if the following week would be possible since they will be heading back to their schools the weekend of August 22/23.

They both said that it would be fine. Yah! What good DDs I have. Our oldest is moving into an apartment and we could move her in the first weekend of August.

Our second oldest starts classes on Wed, the 27 so she could head back on Sunday the 24th.

And when I told DH that I saw a portable DVD player for $329 he said "that's the price of 1 and a half plane tickets." Well THAT got me to thinking that he has 2 frequent flyer tickets, and if we factor in the price of gas - well that gets 4 tickest paid for! I can always manage to come up with another $400 for another 2 tickets. But then we would have to rent a car. But I am SURE that I could figure out a way to get the money.



Maybe we WILL be there together, Belle! (I will give you your tissue back then. )

As I told my oldest a few minutes ago, push has come to shove and I have to make a decision today.

Well, I got shoved and I did it!

I called the Courtyard by Marriot at DD and talked to Mellissa. A VERY nice girl. I checked on availability of Aug. 17-21 for 2 rooms. She had availability for all the nights but just had one room available on the 18th. I had been awaiting another call from DH to make sure, but I decided that I could not wait a second longer - so I booked for August 15 checking out August 22 for 2 rooms. On both rooms we will pay AAA rates ($67) for Friday and Saturday, and on one room we will pay that rate for Monday night. All of the other nights we have the $20.03 rate. It will be a grand total of $572.59 for the 2 rooms for 7 nights!!! Its an incredible rate!!! And from all that I have heard, I will be very happy at this place.

Mellissa told me that it is a 5 minute walk to Pleasure Island, so perhaps our older 2 DDs can go over some evening to explore the clubs.

OH! OH! We are going to fly too! I took our tax refund, added the total of the change that I had counted, added what I had in a WC and subtracted out the cost of airfare, the room, tickets (3 day hoppers), a rental car, and parking for a few days, and I have $398 left to eat with! Looks like a lot of cheap meals. But that's ok. We will work SOMETHING out!

I am SOOOOO excited!!! (Can you tell??!?? )

So I will return your kleenex then Belle.

The only bad thing is that I think that I will be missing RaySharpton.

I called for the nights of 5/4-5/7 and they had a room for the $20 rate on 5/5, $99 for 5/4 and $79 for 5/6. She said it was the "last" room for $20 on 5/5......but I also work hotel reservations for Wyndham Hotels and that what I tell my guests too. (we get paid per reservation!)

So, even though they say they are almost sold out......keep checking, call back when you are ready....just in case!!!

How long is this rate being offered? I'm thinking of October, and after another portion of my trip, the Disney portion is going to have to be low, LOW budget.

scanmom, I called DD Courtyd and was told that there is no $20.03 special for May but there is a $25.00 rate in May. Of course the night I was calling about was sold out - and only available at $99 - but it might be worth a call.

MCazer, As of Sun. morning, May 26th was sold out. She said most of the week was sold out at that rate but I THINK the 28th or 29th were available. Good luck!

I knew I should have called yesterday. It's just that we won't know until May 15 if we can actually go, so I procrastinated.

I figured, better to lose $67.02 if we can go, then wait and have to pay at least 3 times that.

I think I will search out a refundable option and possibly think of borrowing some of my DVC points from next year for a Studio. With all the DVC's to choose from, there has to be some availability for those 3 days.

Downtown Disney Courtyard by Marriott deal for $20.03 per night on nights of Sunday through Thursday, and dates August 10, 2003 through October 2 2003.

Call the 800 number, 1-800-223-9930 and ask for the 20.03 rate---but you must talk to the hotel itself not general Marriott reservations.

I just got off the phone with DD courtyard and booked 5 nights for the special price! They only had (in August) the week of the 24th and the week of the 31st! I got the 24th!!! I can't believe that we are going back so soon! We just returned 3/27 from our first ever trip and now we are going back!!! I'm not teling the kids this time though....ok gonna TRY not to!!!!

This is GREAT!!!!!!!!! I'm just so excited!

I too just called the Marriott Courtyard and got my dates in September 28 - October 2. I'm hoping I'm happy at this hotel. Haven't stayed here since it was the Howard Johnson's back in the mid '80's and it was just "OK" then. I noticed on my confirmation it's a pool view so I'm guessing my room is not in the Tower but on one of the wings.

Anyone who has stayed here recently, any and all information is greatly appreciated.



Jumping for joy as I thought my next trip would be in 2004, DS (who's 7) will be overjoyed, WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!

DD Marriott. We will be there the last week of
Sept. We usually stay there every year and
have enjoyed each stay. The beds are very
comfortable and the location can't be beat.
