An All Star would probably be the cheapest all the way around, but it may not be the best value for your money.
If you are splitting the cost of your stay between the 12 people you may want to consider a Grand Villa at a DVC. You can rent points from an owner. The going rate is about $10 per point & there is no tax on the cost of points rented from an owner.
Example: Even in Premier Season at an OKW Grand Villa the cost is 66 points per night @ $10/pt. is $660 - that is $55 per person. These are weekday costs (Sun-Thurs). The weekend costs are much higher, which should be taken into consideration, however, this is during the highest point time. The lower point time shows OKW @ 36 pts. on a weekday for the Grand Villa and 88 pts. for a weekend.
Remember, you would have a full kitchen in the Grand Villa, which would also save on food because you could prepare breakfasts & other meals in the room. Having a kitchen or kitchenette is always a plus for us - we save so much money on food.
Are you going with all adults or are there children also? An All Star is fun for kids & for adults also, but it can get very, very loud. I think the DVC resorts are a little more subdued & quieter.
Have fun no matter what you decide to do.
