Rooms At Grand Californian

My sister and I are planning a trip to DisneyLand as we've never been to California and have been to Florida too many times. We have 4 children traveling with us, ages 2, 4, 8 and a 5-month old baby. It seems as though at disneyland the room occupancy is 5 max.. and we are 5 +an infant.. will we be able to stay in one room?? because it'd be a shame to pay for 2 rooms when we'll all just end up in the same room.... any insight would be helpful! thank youu!

I'm just thinking, will you be comfortable with 2 queens and a crib for the 5-1/2 of you? If so, I do believe the youngest does not count but be sure to call like disney4metoo said. Hope it works out for you, it is soooooo fun to go to DL with little ones. If you get a 1-BR "suite" it is really nice. I know there is more cost involved but we don't get to go often and when we do we like comfort! If you do decide to look into this be sure to ask for the Artisan Q/Q suite overlooking the pool and you've got two beds plus the pull out in the living room for the 8 year old ... and the living room has plenty of room for you all to "bond".

We had 4 adults and 2 children - 1 in a crib - for last year's Half Marathon Weekend and it was just fine. Get the daybed room - the ones in the Standard view at the front of the hotel are a bit bigger and (gosh) oh, so convenient to the elevators!

We had the crib by the balcony door and there was plenty of room. My other daughter slept on the daybed.

The staff at the hotel said this was fine (even though DVC said it wasn't). They said that they even have sleeping bags (on request) for extra kids.

You'll be okay with one room without having to spend extra for the suite or a second room.

We booked a room at the Grand a few years ago with 2 adults, 4 kids (one in a crib). When we booked, they told me to book it as 2 adults, 3 children

I agree! We stay in a room overlooking California Adventure, but to get to those rooms they is a long hallway. We are all adults so it doesn't matter; I would not want to have to carry littles ones anymore than I had too. We also have been in the park many times, so to us view is important, but since this is your first visit you will be in the park most of the time. Even the standard rooms views are nice, no bad view at the Grand!

If you request it, they will give you a Land's End sleeping bag and a pad to sleep on!

I would do the one room with the daybed too!
