We are planning our first visit to our DVC (YEAY!)

My Mom and MIL will be travelling with my family so I thought it would be nice to have a view of EPCOT so we can watch Illuminations after my son goes to bed.

Which DVC resort is best? What should I request in particular to get a great view? Do the requests usually materialize?

Thanks

I have a wonderful view of Spaceship Earth from the BCV.

you will get the best view (my opinion) from BCV -

just ask for a Epcot view of either World Showcare or Future World - as high as possible - I asked for a Epcot view of Future World on the 5th floor if availability.

kept in mind that these are not guaranteed - but the CM at BCV do try....

I got a studio 561.

You can also get a view of of Illuminations from a Boardwalk view at BWV. We just got back and had a great view from room 5003. Do realize, though, that you will only see the higher fireworks from either BWV or BCV. The lights and action down near the water can't be viewed unless you are actually in the park.::yes::

You should also be aware that BW Views are a room type - bookable when you reserve the room. Which means that unless you are a BW owner and booking eleven months out, you don't have much of a chance of getting the room.

And that you can request a view of Epcot at the BCVs, but a lot of people do and there are few of these rooms available.

In other words, those requests don't "ususually" materialize - the CMs do try - but there are a lot of guests asking for those rooms. With BCVs there is a "room ready" policy, so showing up early on Friday or Saturday MAY help.

We were in 540- studio- had the golf ball straight ahead of us. To view Illuminations we just had to look to the right, had a great view.

We stayed in studio 540 at BCV in June and had a wonderful view of SE and Illuminations. As another poster stated, you can only see the higher fireworks so there are times when you won't see anything from your balcony since all of the activity is on the water. Have a great trip!! You will love the Epcot area!!
