You will not lose your $200 deposit if you modify your room/ticket reservation for a later date, so long as you do so before your "one month prior" deadline, correct? Thank you.

You shouldn't. You're moving it to the new reservation, right?

Yes, thank you. I haven't even done this yet, just nervous about the need to reschedule (which I have never had to do before, but everything still feels very "iffy").

Just to add to what @Dug720 covered above your deposit can be applied to a modified or new reservation package for a future rescheduled date. Please note you may not get to keep your existing package pricing. Pricing for room / tickets are subject to change (increase).

My recent experience was a tad complicated, but not really. I had to cancel my January trip (long story) and had a February trip booked. January was 100% paid off, and I did not really want to deal with refunding the multiple payments and sources on that one. The Feb trip only had the deposit on it. So I cancelled that one, then essentially changed the January trip to my Feb dates and desired resort. It was no problem. I use a TA, but the procedure should be the same.

The big thing is DO NOT SAY CANCEL. Say you would like to reschedule your trip. If you say "cancel" even with it's paired with "and reschedule" there are pretty high odds that the agent accidentally hits cancel. JUST say you want to move the dates of your trip.

And as @Dave006 stated, if the current pricing is not available it will change the pricing on it. But you can always watch and if a new deal becomes available switch to that. (One reason I love using a TA is she will check all that for me, sometimes even before I know there is a new deal out there.)

Thank you both, very much. I'll ask one more question since you are so knowledgeable - I am booking a room/ticket package for July and right now there are no room discounts. If one were to come up for my dates, could I call and ask for a price adjustment, or would I need to move my current reservation to a future date (thanks for the tip about not saying "cancel") and book another reservation for July in order to get the discount?

You should be able to - as long as you're prepared for potentially long waits. (That's where a TA can be a lifesaver.) The only reason I could see for needing to cancel and rebook is if the Terms and Conditions of the new offer stated "New Bookings Only" - but that seems to be more common with cruiselines than Disney. But it is a possibility.

In addition to calling to see if you can take advantage of any new discounts that are released, you can try to modify the reservation online. Just be prepared to have some other choices in mind should your resort/room category not appear in any released discount inventory.

Thank you - I booked a deluxe room at BC and I think there are only 6 of those, so I do know that I might lose it if I try for the discount. I was on the fence about the room anyway - almost $200 more than a regular room, but since we haven't been in almost two years I figured the splurge was worth it for my teenagers to be more comfortable while sleeping - that pull-down bed won't cut it anymore!
