I asked this a while ago and never got a definite answer. Now that our trip is getting closer I thought Id try again, for anyone with more recent experience.

Does anyone know how early on embarkation day you can order room service? Im thinking of stocking up on some diet cokes and getting a later lunch through room service(we would skip the buffet) probably around 2:00-3:00? . So, what the earliest you have ordered room service?

I remember your asking that question a while ago and that you got no response. I emailed Disney to get an answer to that question, and they never replied to my email. That's rather odd... they're usually very good about answering my emails. So, sorry, I still don't know.

Interesting question. I'll be eager to read the answer once one becomes available.

great question
I was ready to give up having lunch and just sending DH & DS. I have too much to do when I first get on the ship. Palos ressies, Spa ressies. The boys will want to go eat and I was thinking I would need to skip lunch. But it will be good to have something in my stomach before I have that sailaway drink.

Yes you can!</font color?

We took a 4 day Wonder cruise two weeks ago and did order room service on embarkation afternoon. Before cruising we told DD and DS that they could get room service whenever thay wanted and to just remember to tip the server who brought it to the stateroom (I kept a bunch of one dollar bills in one of the nightstands).

We got on the ship at about 12:30 went to the buffet and were in our room at about 1:30 and DH and went out on the verandah for a few minutes. By the time we stepped back in the room DD and DS had ordered chicken fingers and chocolate chip cookies from room service!

It arrived in about 20 minutes - and they did remember to tip.:) I would not have thought that you could get room service that early on embarkation day but leave it to the kids to find out. The server did ask that we not put the tray outside the door until late afternoon when they were done delivering luggage to the staterooms.

I tipped between 2 and 5 dollars each time depending what I ordered.

Thanks so Much Diz-Me!

I would not even try that early, but was thinking around 4pm when my kids usually eat (we have late seating)

Wow, I stumped Dave! LOL! ;) :D Thanks for trying though.

Thanks Diz-Me! Thats useful info. We are eating breakfast at 8:00 at the Kona Cafe(= Tonga Toast) so I dont expect to be too hungry 4-5 hours later. Plus, nothing on the buffet menu really excites me too much. Id rather do all my running around, then relax and have a snack in the room. Sounds like my plan will work.

this is great to know...
not that we'll necessarily use it, but just in case...
so camcolt...it's getting closer and closer...i feel like time is starting to whiz by...
we'll be at the grand floridian before the cruise...
which reminds me...
if you're staying in a disney hotel, but not on a land/sea package, can you also preregister for the cruise?

Yes, disneyholic, under 8 weeks now!
Unfortuantely, if its booked as 2 separate reservations and not as the land/sea package then no you have to check in at the hotel for that portion of the trip and at the port for the cruise. From what I hear checking in at the port is pretty painless, so lets hope thats true. :)
Our last cruise was the land/sea and we just put our card through the little machine and walked right on. There was no line when our bus arrived either. It was great.
