Room Service Warning

I just want to warn anyone ordering room service that you may want to call to make sure that they actually receive your order. We put our order out one night and never received our food the next morning. When we called they said that they never received an order. I am guessing that someone may have taken the order off of the door. We had some problems with kids ringing the doorbell on our room and running away this time as well so it's just a guess. The next time that we ordered room service for breakfast we wanted to make sure that we received it because it was the last morning and since we had to be off the ship we didn't want to deal with the same issue. As soon as we put our order on the door we called and they came up and got it right away. The girl that I spoke to was not too pleasant, either. Twice she asked me "Are you sure that you put your order on your door"?

Just a word of caution to everyone.

There isn't room service the last morning of the cruise. Service stops at Midnight on the final night of the cruise.

Wow, the same thing happened to us! Probably the same chick trying to blame us-the passanger for their mistake! However, they more than made up for their mistake (and they admitted that they had screwed up). A very nice gentleman came to our room and apologized many times and gave us te menus for the restaurants for the rest of the week (5 days worth) for lunch and dinner and said that we could have the conceirge 'in room' dining option. I think they did this because it was our REAS champagne breakfast that they messed up on AND we figured out the mess at 10 AM, so it was too late to get food anywhere. We ate some munchies in our room and went to the dining room for lunch when they opened. We did not use the offer because we enjoyed going to the dining room for dinner, but it was a nice offer.

Was this a Disney cruise?

I didn't know they had doorbells.

They also don't have room service on the final morning.

It's still a good tip though. I always wonder about kids being just a bit too goofy.

On our last cruise we had a doorbell (it was a handicap room, I don't know if that is why we had a doorbell that time??).

However, I never had a problem with room service:D

I think the category 1, 2 and 3 cabins have doorbells and concierge service which allows them room service breakfast the final morning.

We also had a problem with breakfast room service, it was never delivered. But the problem wasn't room service, it was me! I forgot to put our room number on the card, and any other vital information needed for delivery!!!

We have stayed in a cat 3 and that is correct............ also the suites do have doorbells.

Yes, this was a Disney cruise. It was just last week. We were in a category 3 room which DOES have room service on the last night and also has a doorbell. The last morning was not the day that we had the problem, it was a day earlier in the week.

I always wonder about the possibility of kids grabbing the door hanger too, even though 5650 is way in the back where there is usually no foot traffic. Generally I call in our order rather than leave it out, but we've left it out quite a few times with no problem. They are always VERY prompt with the time we request. There is no need for an alarm clock when you pre-order room service for your wake-up time.

Kamlem,

I noticed you are on the 10 day cruise. There is a great big group of us on the cruise meets board planning for that cruise.

Come and join us - we always love meeting new cruisers.

Thanks, Mary. I'm not sure whether we are definitely going or not. We have a category 4 stateroom booked but we are waitlisted for a 3 or higher. If we cannot get something higher I don't think that we will go. We also have a March 2005 booked so we may just wait for that.

Kamlem - nevermind, it was answered. I was apparently trying to send at the same time sap1227 was sending & it was answered in that thread. Mine wouldn't go through like a dozen times.

{Massive computer sending problems & then a brownout on top of it & couldn't even send e-mail. Well, hopefully this goes through.}
