Yes, the cost of upgrading at the port is calculated using a chart showing purchased categories and upgraded categories, and is typically less than the cost of upgrading to a higher category before embarkation day.Are the upgrades at a discount cost?
We asked on The Wish in September and it was available but it was the same price as it was at home, no discountAre the upgrades at a discount cost?
I have also noticed the upgrade costs have been higher than previous years. It is not the great deal it once was.We asked to upgrade on the 12 day Mediterranean cruise this summer and it was $13k to upgrade from our VGT balcony to a concierge balcony room for 4 people. It was not worth the upgrade cost and my daughters would have had to share a queen couch bed vs the ceiling and single couch bed in the regular veranda. I don't think they are giving the deep discounts for upgrades they once were. A few years prior we paid $6k to upgrade to a one bedroom on a seven day cruise for 5 people, that was worth it.
We just got off the 7 day Southern Caribbean and got an upgrade from an inside guarantee to a veranda once the ship set sail .it was the only one left .
