Room safes

Is there a charge to use the room safes? I've heard conflicting information. We are staying at POR. Additionally does anybody know if the safes are the new style ones that a laptop can fit inside?

There's no charge to use the room safes. The ones at CSR and POFQ are keyed (not digital) and are not large enough to hold a laptop. They are about 3 inches deep and maybe 10 inches wide and 8 inches high.

The rooms at POR haven't been redone recently, so I assume they have the same safes as the other 2 mods I've stayed in in the year.

As Claire said no charge for room safes. I am not sure if will fit a laptop in them but some resorts can fit them in. The GF does not sure about CR or Poly. I know for sure the wL, AKL, BWI & Yacht Club safes you can not fit a lap top in them <smiles>

No charge for the room safe. Laptops won't fit though.

ASSports has safes that you lock with a key. A laptop will not fit.

The only one I've seen that is large enough for something substantial like a laptop or purse is at GF.

The only time they charge you is when you don't leave them the key to the safe on check-out. In these instances they re-drill the lock and charge $35 to your credit card.

I have been able to put my laptop in the safe at BCV, CR, and Poly. Not at WL, VWL, BC, or BWV. I haven't had it with me anywhere else. The safes seem to come in two sizes - small and really large. The one at CR I actually had my laptop in it's padded case, all the cords for the laptop, my not so small camera, and my handbag, all in there at the same time, and it wasn't overly full. I think it would be great if they would put the larger safes in everywhere. It would be nice to be able to secure all your valuables in the safe instead of having to pick and choose sometimes.
