How far ahead do you make room requests? I'll probably be making them by Email if that matters. I used to call to make my requests, but with the comments about long wait times, and the Chat not working most times, I figured I'd Email. Should I identify my stay with the confirmation number?

I just make my requests whenever I know I'll be keeping that room (whether it's at 11 or 7 months, or whenever) and use the email through the member site. Just list the reservation number to make sure it gets noted on the correct reservation.

What email? I've only ever made requests through the site where they ask if you want to be by the elevators, near transportation, etc. There is another way? Please let me know. We're traveling next week.

Use the Contact page on the member site to submit an email. There you could type in whatever sort of request you would like.

I call to make room requests.

I have been told that they make room assignments 2-3 weeks ahead of time, so I suggest you submit room requests before then.

I have had better luck when I call Member Services than the times that I used the online checkin options (which are more limited). The one time I did both I pretty much got the opposite. All that said, a request is just a request, not a guarantee and some times it is just the luck of the draw.

I usually submit requests as soon as I know what they are, on the theory of first come, first served. I email via the member website, including the reservation number as others have noted.

I usually make my requests using email to MS about a month or a bit more out.

Where do I find the Member Service emails? Or are you speaking of another's sites email service? Need help getting a room request. thanks

DVC owners can send emails to DVC MS via the Contact Us link on the member website.

yes, this is how we do it once I know I’m not going to change. I like that I get a response back. it seems to be taking only about a week now.

Used Chat feature recently..phone wait was TOO long, although I always have made requests by phone. I actually took a screenshot of the chat so I know the CM name if the request never makes it to the reservation. It happened one time, that the request was not in the reservation and I was asked if I had the CMs name.. I did not so I figured I would take a screenshot this time in case😃

I always wait until I'm at least within the 7 month window, and pretty sure I'm keeping the reservation as it stands.
