We are trying to decide if we should put in a room request for our upcoming stay. We are staying at AKL for a few days then transfering to WL for the remainder of our stay.

So do you make room requests on your ressies, do you fax in requests, or do you just wing it and hope for the best?

BTW - If you do request what would you request at AKL/WL?

Thanks!

we always put in room requests (we just call central reservations and add it to our reservation)..

if you want to know what to ask for at AKL/WL, check the Unofficial Guide to WDW.....he has suggestions for best rooms at all the different resorts...
i've followed his advice for the last few years and always been happy with it....

actually now that i think about it at AKL and WL I didn't use the UG's advice, since at AKL we were staying concierge, so i called the concierge planning office and told them what we wanted in terms of view...
and for WL, we stayed in the yosemite suite, so there's only one of those and no need to request anything else...

If your requests are noted in your reservation no need to fax. Most resorts are ignoring the faxes. You can call and have your requests added to your reservation.

We did a YC/CR split. I put our requests in the reservations. At YC, I got everything we wanted and more.

At CR I got none of my requests, except for non-smoking. However, we checked into CR at 7:30 am, in a driving rain storm. We expected to not have a room for the day, which was kind of a problem in the driving rain. When the CM proudly said that our room was ready, I knew it was going to be about the least desirable in the place. But, given the rain and all, I was very glad ot have a room. The location of the room probably was not what anyone ever asks for, but it was very cool...the bay side, on the same floor that the monorail is on, right above Chef Mickey's. The monorail was literally across the hall from us! The view of Bay Lake was great. We could look over the rail and see the characters at Chef Mickey's. (But when our door was closed it was quiet.) The moral of the story is that there may be cool locations that you don't even know to ask for...the luck of the draw is not all bad!
