I know that Room requests are very hit and miss anyway but I'm wondering about putting in a request to avoid ground floor villas in BLT and BCV for our upcoming split stay. We haven't stayed in BLT yet. Last time we stayed in BCV we walked to Epcot a number of times and I felt bad for the people in the ground floor rooms as we went by--it seemed they didnt have much privacy. But now I'm thinking those were Beach Club and not BCV rooms?

Any thoughts on ground floor rooms in these 2 resorts? Pros and cons? We're a party of adults and young teens/tweens in 2 studios.

I think the ground floor villas at BLT are all standard view....as far as BCV if your talking about the rooms to your right as you walk down the path to epcot yes those are beach club inn rooms not BCV rooms

As far as ground floor rooms in general we've never been assigned one but I know from reading here some like them saying they like the easy access to the pool....no need to take elevators etc

We always request ground floor rooms, and have had them at both BCV and BLT. Really like the easier in-and-out and have never experienced a privacy issue with people walking by...maybe we're just lucky, because of course people do walk by...but the BCV villas are on a walkway that doesn't draw any traffic except the guests in the villas along the path (relatively few). The BLT ground floor villas might draw more traffic, especially on the side facing the marina & pool...but when I had one of those villas I never noticed anyone walking by my villa when I was sitting in it or on the patio...

I agree that the ground floor rooms along the pathway to Epcot do draw passers-by "glances" (I've been known to glance in myself!)...but can't remember ever seeing anyone in their room as I walked by...

Anyway, I guess it's personal taste--good luck!

Twice I've had a BCV ground floor studio, facing the woods and once it was quite near the roadway. These were short stays, and I wasn't inconvenienced, but did see a very small snake out right out there. Even I wasn't afraid of it, but it's mom or pop were probably around.

We were placed in a ground floor at BCV during the 4th of July week. I asked to be moved up if possible but everything was very full. In the end, it worked out great! We had plenty of privacy (faced the woods and could even see some high Illuminations from the room). Getting in and out daily, getting to pool and refillable mugs, plus loading luggage in and out of the car, was such a breeze. Would happily do it again.

I also noticed that some of the rooms that face the more public areas have a lattice wall between the room and the sidewalk, so that adds more privacy too.

We are staying in a SV room at BLT next week. The only request I put in was "not first floor". I have seen pictures from some of those rooms (we have a 2 bedroom) and they don't look that bad, but just figured I would be more comfortable

If I really don't like it, I probably won't do SV again just to avoid it.

We never take a room on the first floor because we spend a lot of time on the balcony/patio and if there are any critters out there with me, I will completely freak out! We are in and out of the room via the balcony doors a lot and tend to keep them open frequently (unless it is really hot outside) and I can't have any critters coming in.

I know some critters can get on the higher balconies, but it is much less likely.

I forgot to add we're staying in Standard view at BLT which is why I know we might get a ground floor
