Room Requests for a group

We're staying with my extended family at the end of January at All Star Movies and we will have 4 rooms between us all. We've decided our #1 request will be renovated rooms, however we'd like to be near each other or connecting as well. I'm going to call in the requests and make sure they know we're traveling together. Should I only request renovated rooms to give us the best chance of getting them? If I don't request that we be near each other or connecting (we're all separate family units so connecting is not needed, we just thought it would be fun for the kids) - will they still try to put us close to each other if they know we're all traveling together? Thanks!

I'd call and add traveling with to ALL of the reservations. Reservation 1 should be recorded as traveling with 2, 3, and 4. Reservation 2 should be recorded as traveling with 1, 3 and 4. Etc Etc.

Personally, I'd just make it easier for the room assignors and have renovated be the only request. I think they do their best to play the game of tetris with the "traveling with" reservations.

If I call and give them the list of reservation numbers that are traveling together, is that not how they would normally do it?

You just need to make sure the person on the phone actually puts it on all the reservations. When I called to do it, the rep went through the reservations and made sure that the note was on all the reservations. This way when the assignors go to place your group if reservation 3 is the first on the list to be assigned, all the traveling parties are on that file as well.

I agree that you should call and have your reservations linked I would make the only request "renovated room."

remember even if phone is answered as your resort it is a call center not even on WDW. make sure that all ressies traveling with you are linked and need close by. renovated rooms could get you spaced out as in different floors. also there is not for sure requests
