Room request help needed for a 1bdrm suite at AKL

We are splurging on a 1 bdrm suite for our upcoming trip to AKL in July (I can't wait!!) and I need suggestions for a room request. Do all the suites have great views or are some better than others? We'll sacrifice a convienent location to get the best views of the animals as we will be spending a lot of time at the resort. Any advice?

Absolutely!!! I would reccommend staying on the lowest level of the resort because it puts you very close to the animals. The suites are on the ends of the resort so it is very private and really nice. Be prepared for a long walk to concierge and the lobby though!! We love the lodge and always stay in 2 br suites. We just stayed in 3285 and it was amazing! It juts out into the middle of the Sunset Savannah. There were always a ton of animals when we looked outside. It was also pretty convenient because it was on the main floor of the hotel so you only needed to use the elevator when going to the Concierge Lounge (5th floor). I'd request one on the 3rd or 5th floors for that reason.

It was a great suite -- enjoy!

Thank you for the great advice! I will definitely request a low floor and maybe even ask for 3285 if possible. An email is on the way, Brett.

One additional question if you don't mind. What about the "people" corral" thing? Does it get in the way of viewing the animals or don't you see it from the suites?

There wasn't any people corral near us. We've stayed at AKL many times (although this was the first time in a suite). It was by far the best view we've ever had!

Great! I've always stayed on the Arusha Savannah and was worried about the views from the other savannahs.

Ditto on the best animal views from the ends of the hall. Some of the animals like to stay away from the "people viewing pens". The walk to conci. is well worth it at AKL. I think it is the best Conci. by far anywhere.
