DH and I are staying at POP for the very first time the end of September. It's an adults-only trip to celebrate our anniversary (yay!). We'd like an area that's not too far from the main areas, but still on the quieter side. I've read about rooms facing over the water vs. the pool...?? Any opinions? TIA!

The 70's building is pretty nice and not too far. There is no nearby pool, so that would assure you no noise as far as that is concerned. I would suggest asking for a room not facing a pool and not on the ground floor.:)

The rooms by the lake are quiet. Pool front rooms are generally noisier. We stayed in the 60's by the lake. It was quiet, yet close to the main building.

Our only visit at Pop we didn't request anything.

We wound up in the inside of the 80'-90's building near the laptop pool. We were on the second floor.

It was very quiet but quite far from everything. In our family we joked that this room might has been been in Georgia!

DH and I have stayed at POP twice. With no special requests the first time, we were placed in a 70's building, overlooking the courtyard between 70's and 80's. It was a lovely, quiet spot. The second trip I asked for the 50's or 70's. They were unable to place us there but they did put us in a room in the 60's, overlooking the lake. Again a quiet spot. On both occasions I felt that whoever selected our room considered the fact that we were an adult couple traveling without children.

Actually, the furthest point from the center of Classic Hall is the same distance as from the Magic Kingdom turnstiles to Cinderella Castle. Honestly. The very far corner of the Nineties building is 750 feet from the 'drop' in the roofline is 750 feet; ditto for the turnstile to the Castle.

Anyway, the OP should just request a room facing the lake.

Thanks for all the replies!! Looks like it's a lake view request for me! :thumbsup2

Rm 3335, 50's facing the lake with a view of Spaceship earth. Perfect location and not too far!

Ooooooooo.....sounds like you lucked out with a fantastic room! I hope we are that lucky...Epcot is DH's fave park and this would be wonderful for him! :cool1:

However, it is best not to request a specific room. If that room's taken, you could end up anywhere. Instead, be as general as possible while still getting in your requests, in order of importance to you. For example, instead of asking for room 3335, request "Building 2 or 3, facing the lake".

Ditto-3 stays in 50's 4th floor facing the lake. Beautiful view and quiet.

Yeah, I know....I'm just going to request a particular area and view and see what happens! I'm really just going to be happy that I'm in Disney with my honey....no matter where we end up!

Last year we stayed in the back side of the 50's, pool was near, but didn't hear no noise from it. Nice and quiet for adults.
