Stayed in BCV No. 272 from 4 AUG thru 11 AUG, wonderful room!!!
View is of pool and of river channel (which downstream is river thru EPCOT Futureworld). View was signif. and exciting. View from backside (toward EPCOT) probably not spectacular. View probably overlooks greenhouses in LAND exhibit in Futureworld -- world showcase is more toward Boardwalk.
Room 272 -- no problems, one bedroom, with better organization of closets and access than predecessors in BWV and OKW
Still miss wide open spaces in OKW, lite colors in BCV more warming than in WLV.
One note on room -- drier door and closet door on washer drier combo not designed together -- drier door opens, but only after scraping paint off of closet door. Clearance too close.
Nice quiet room in beautiful hotel.
Misc. thoughts.
1. NOT CROWDED -- attendance definitely down.
2. TOO EXPENSIVE -- prices definitely up (rack rate for BC hotel is $330 per night, beyond my budget).
3. EISNER NOT LOVED -- One cast member sold stock in DIS due to closure of Dixie Landings and other alleged "bone-head" policies of Eisner. (personally, I believe that only Michael Eisner is capable of running DIS through tough times now -- he has my support despite depressed stock values).
4. NO ONE THOUGHT OF WHAT HAPPENS TO DVC MEMBERS IF DIS GOES CHAP. 11. -- Asked a number of people, cast members, sales reps and supervisors what happens to DVC if DIS goes into Chap. 11 -- Dont laugh, stock value is down 60+% since high -- no one knows answer in my opinion.
5. WELCOME HOME THEME GOING TO HOUSE -- nothing in BCV reminds of Welcome Home theme, only mention of theme was to my wife by two supervisors who obviously were supervisors and recognized obvious DVC member.
6. NO EXTENSION OF OKW TO DISNEY INSTITUTE DVC PROPERTY -- although property around Disney Institute will be developed as DVC property, assured by knowledgeable DVC salesman that Disney Institute property will not continue OKW theme/
7. OKW STILL THE BEST -- Although transportation is inconvenient, OKW still offers best $$ for investment, as floor plan is largest, with most accoutrements to room. In BCV none of OKW decorations are present, BCV, while nice, offer none of the little knick-knacks (what nots, and theming) offered at OKW.
Have received notice of recall to Bahrain beginning next thursday,
