Hey guys,
After many posts and comments about requests not being met and unhappy guests, I propose the following. Get all DVC Resorts using the "Room Ready" system and implement it properly. For starters all requests except NS and HA (handicap) be eliminated. No more Epcot views requested or pool views, etc. Room ready should also be used like this with NO EXCEPTIONS. Upon check in, the guest would be given the choice of available rooms at that time. The guest would be shown a map and the location of each room that is ready and in the sytsem at that time. The guest chooses from those available rooms. If the guest finds nothing is available that they want they would have one and only one option at this point, to come back later and see what is available then. They would not have the option of reqesting a room location or waiting for such and such room. When they returned the above scenario would repeat itself. Only the ready rooms would be offered. Waiting would be risky as other "good" rooms could be taken earlier in the day. Maybe not, however, as the "good" rooms might already be occupied or maybe they aren't cleaned yet and would come online later. There would not being any yelling, brow beating, demanding, or saying but I'm an owner here and booked 11 months out, etc. This would also get guests arriving into a room immediately. No more waiting all day to get a room like we do now with the room assigning system. There are tons of cleaned rooms available when we check in. When they assign rooms, you can't get one of cleaned rooms, only your assigned room unless you fus, whine and demand a clean room. I really feel views are so over rated at DVC resorts anyway. There really aren't that many good views anyway. We are not talking about a trip to the beach. The vast majority of WDW guests spend little time in the room anyway. Room ready would be a luck of the draw type of thing giving guests at least some control over where they are located. It also would go a long way towards restoring DVC member reputations. We are now labled as whiners and demanding. Who can blame them with the behaviors we've all winessed and the rants we here about on these boards. This new system would help restore the magic, I believe. Anyone else on board with this? Any other suggestions? I've seen and heard far too many unhappy guests and angry rants at check in. Maybe if enough people vioce this it could happen. Anyone computer savy enough to forward this to an appropriate person at DVC? Thanks for the time.
