Room rate at Poly for October 2004

My family and I are going to WDW for the first time October 16-22, 2004. I
have booked a gardenview room at the Poly for $345 a night. This seems high for a basic room. When would discount codes come out? Am I correct in thinking this is high? A friend used an 800 number 3 years ago that is meant for agents and got Conceirge floor for #345. Does anyone have this number and do non agents use it?

We stayed last October for a rate of $230 for a garden view. The fall discount rates usually come out in mid summer. When a rate comes out, all you have to do is call and ask them to use the rate code on your existing reservation. If you get an agent that tells you no, just hang up and call back. Most will let you do that with no problem. As for a toll free number, I use to use the Disney Club number, but that is no longer an option. Unless you go through a travel agent, you have to call the long distance number. I just use my cell phone so that I don't have to pay. I have no doubt you will be able to get a better rate than the one you currently have. Good luck!
