I read a lot of threads here where people talk about problems with their room but they don't ask to switch rooms. Or they will post a lot about the resort grounds and amenities when recommending resort but not talk much about the room itself. For me, the room is important, even if I am not in it much. I want it to be spotless and I don't want anything to be outdated (like bathrooms) or showing wear ( carpets, furniture). Mold in a bathroom totally grosses me out. I can't relax in a room that is not fresh. It doesn't have to be luxury but I don't want it to be dingy or musty smelling or beat up. I wouldn't stay a minute in a room that had hair in the bathtub drain, mold in the shower or on the walls, wet spots on the carpet, musty smells, etc., all of which I have seen described here at one time or another. I know I'm picky but that's the point: I prefer a nice room above all else and usually try to book only new and/or recently refurbished rooms. I will happily walk 15 minutes to the main buildings as long as I have I have a nice, fresh room.
So which us more important to you? The look and feel of the room or the resort grounds and amenities?
