Room only vs package?

I've always only booked RO, I'm thinking of booking a package for our June 2017 trip.
Is it true I can apply a RO discount to the room portion ? What about an AP discount?
To be honest I really just like the idea of the $200 deposit versus the $1000 plus for RO on a 2 bed villa......
Otherwise how difficult is it to switch from package to RO reservation in a few months?

Yes, a room discount can be applied to the room portion of a package. If you book RO now and change to a package later, the RO will have to be cancelled/refunded and a package booked, requiring a new $200 deposit (with the balance due 30 days prior to arrival). Since RO and packages are different reservation systems, money paid toward one cannot be applied to the other.

You're welcome!

Yes, if you get a package with tickets, you can use those tickets later or apply them toward the renewal of your AP (just make sure you don't use them). I think you can have the tickets taken off the MB so you don't accidentally use them, but I'm not sure how that's done. Hopefully others be able to give some information on that .

Booking a package now will not guarantee a room only in the future because packages and room only reservations come from different inventories. When you switch in a few months the package will be cancelled and the room only will have to be booked as a new reservation as long as there is a 2 BR villa available.
