What is the different b/t a package and a room only ressie with tickets seperate. About the only thing I can figure out is the City Walk access or does that come with the room only too. How much per day are City Walk tickets? Also, like Disney after you make ressies and pay deposit when do you pay the remaining amount by. Thanks for the help:)

The only time you will get charged at citywalk is cover charge at night otherwise there is no charge for citywalk itself and when you make ressies for a room you pay a deposit and you can either wait till the end of your stay or pay for it all when you check in
Hope this helps :thumbsup2

For us the biggest difference is in price. We go through AAA for their discount on the room and then buy our tickets from AAA for their discount on them. It is cheaper to do a room only reservation and then buy the tickets. The tickets include City Walk unless there is a separate cover charge. With booking a room only reservation we do not pay for the room until we check out at the end of our stay.

i favor booking room only.

when you break all the components apart, you will find it is cheaper to buy everything separately.

i pay one night rate when i book, then i pay the remainder of the stay and charges on the day i check out.

you do have the option of making payments for your stay in advance.
another UO department handles that set up.

Thanks for all the help. I just checked and room only rates dropped about $40 per night. It was about $250 difference between the package and room only and buying tickets seperatly

I found that booking everything separate was less expensive and if you have a problem the cancellation policy is much better if you just do room only then if you do a package.

I know with the 7 day pass you don't have to worry about a cover charge at most the locations at City Walk so it depends on how many days you are staying. :cool1:

there are rare exceptions to the rules of booking room only.

the last time i had a package was probably 8 years ago.
that was the one time the package was cheaper for me.

i think the homie in that other thread booked thru an airline deal??
it's been awhile since i read that thread.

Yes, they did book through an airline deal. It was the price of the airline tickets which made the package comparable to buying seperately.

Do you book room only through Universal or loews hotel.website or phone.Going Oct.8-12 for Halloween horror nights again.

I believe that the Universal and Loews websites takes you to the same booking engine. My advice is to check there first to get an idea of prices. Then call to see if better discounts are available over the phone.
