will I do better doing room only and park tickets seperate OR a package? From what I can tell, the room rate could be less, but the park tickets are what they are either way, is that right?

If I am thinking right, and I do not do dining plan, then room only is the way to go, and get the park tickets at same price. Correct??

I have usually found it cheaper to get everything separate, especially if you are not interested in the dining plan. I get a room with a AAA discount and get tickets from one of the online ticket sellers and save a few dollars per ticket too. Unless there is some special deal, like free dining or free park hopper tickets, just getting a package has never offered me any savings.

If you get your own tickets separately, can you add them to your room?

I had to cancel (unbundle) a reservation yesterday because I was able to get a AAA room only discount through the CRO. You are correct that now you cannot add on the DDP. You can either still get your tix through CRO or as mentioned through one of the discounters.

I doubt you could put them on the room since it is no longer a package but maybe you can once you arrive at the resort.

The two things I lost going away from the package was the free travel insurance and the yellow bag tags that are mailed to you for DME. This last one still puzzles me because I still qualify for DME but I don't get the mailing with the tags.

The tags are part of the package, that why.

But free travel ins??? I have never seen it free, where did
you get that from? I know Disney adds it in their package price unless you tell them you dont want it.

Not free on our last package..it was over pretty expensive actually and charged to each adult in the party.

Correction. I found out that the CM goofed and told me room only, no DME through CRO. I later found out that this CM was wrong and that all rooms qualify for DME. Called back and the DME was in fact still on my ressie. :yay:

Given the CM goofed on the DME, she probably misinformed me about free ins. as well. :rolleyes1
