Room only ressie, latest date to apply AP discount?

WE have booked a room only ressie for THV august 2014. No discount available at this time. We DO NOT want to purchase any tickets before arrival.

If I notice that AP discounts for our dates would be available, would it be possible at check in:

1). Purchase an annual pass for me (room in my name), then

2). Have the AP discount being offered for our dates applied to our room reservation


Since I would be returning to WDW in less than a year, I would come out ahead on the tickets only if getting a room discount.

I don't think it's possible to have a discount applied at check in, but if an AP discount comes out for your dates, you can have it applied to your reservation (pending availability) without having the actual AP at the time. If you don't have the AP at check in, they usually give a 24 hour time frame to show it, so it shouldn't be a problem buying it after check in. HTH .
