Room only reservation....is there a member discount?

I'm sure this has been asked before...but I'm not locating it here. I tried to call Disney twice this week. They kept switching me all around. We are staying 6 nights straight at SSR in October. Our first night there, we were staying offsite because it was Saturday night. I really would just prefer to stay there and maybe change rooms if need be. Is there any discount for just a room not using points? I looked on the DVC site but still cannot figure this out. Can someone direct me..? and where do I call too....

Assuming you want the cash reservation at SSR, you call MS. If there is availability, you may get a 25% discount from the rack rate.

If MS books you for cash (even if it is at rack rate), the cash & points reservation will be "linked" and you will not have to move/change rooms.

If you book through CRO/WDWTC, you may have to move. At a minimum you will have to check out and back in again - even if you get to keep the same room.

Call MS on Monday and see what is available.

When available, there is a 25% DVC Member discount at DVC resorts. The first priority of MS is to make DVC reservations using points, but when they are satisfied that a room is not needed for point reservations (either because of the time before arrivale or past history at the resort), they will apply the discount.

I'd go ahead and make the reservation - MS may be able to apply the discount immediately and if not, they will apply it if it becomes available at a later date. Usually, the discount may be available once within 60 months if not earlier.
