I just put a room on hold at AKL for January of 2018. It seems like historically, Disney provides offers for Jan/Feb/March. The dates I put on hold are Jan 3-9. Does anyone think that there is a chance an offer will be put out and the price could become less?

Also, we've never taken the Magical Express because we've always flown into Sanford. This time we are flying to MCO. Can you take the ME with a room only reservation or do you have to book a package?

TIA!!

Yes, it's possible. It depends on what dates they release for discounts and if your resort/room category are in the discount inventory for your dates. If they release discounts for your dates and you can be flexible with resorts and room categories, chances are you'll get some type of discount.

DME is available to all guests staying onsite regardless of whether they booked room-only or a package.

Awesome, thank you! We usually take a direct Allegiant flight from our hometown to Sanford, but we have miles for AA this year. Excited to finally check out the ME!!

Your dates include marathon. There won't be any discounts marathon weekend, and that weekend is fairly pricey in general. So I wouldn't hold extremely high hopes of a good offer for the span of your dates.

I'm so glad you said that! I totally forgot about the marathon!

I agree. Not only would I not expect discounts over Marathon weekend, I expect it will be more crowded than other dates in January

If your dates are flexible and you're hoping for a discount, I'd look at after MLK Day, or at least not arrive until the 7th and leave the morning of the 13th to miss peak MLK Weekend and Marathon.
