Room only out of luck

We are planning to go to Disney just for 3 nights in January. We have tickets left over from our trip just a month ago . So I am just booking room only and getting a $142 nite rate at Port Orleans Riverside. I was hoping for something to upgrade to WL or even Contemporary. Any more rumors...I am figuring this is it .

New code just posted on disney.com -- looks like it is room and tickets (but no dining) - maybe try that. When I called to get info on it - CM also mentioned YQX but did not give me any info on code.

Still praying for room only code! Currently booked at Riverside for $139 a night. Bummer, I hate rack rate!

I wish I could help, but other than AAA and BRP (AP) along with the package discount they just released, that seems to be it for now. I would say keep your eyes open because you never know when Disney desides to do something at the last minute.

I think we may be out of luck on this!!!!

If they do come out, I bet it will be for when the BRP rates have dropped so low (late Jan to mid Feb I think???). Those rates look amazing.
Maybe for those who have booked at rack rate for these dates, may want to consider getting an AP in order to get those awesome rates??

I saw on mousesavers that there are room only discount for FL residents, Jan-Feb. 15.

I didn't go with the pkg. deal this week, it would have actually cost me a bit more as I would have given up my AAA discount on the room.

I'm hoping for something still. I think the last time I went in Feb. the room onlys didn't come out until late Dec. or early Jan. But that was 2 years ago, I don't think there were any room onlys last year.

It seems the cheapest "room-only" option at WDW right now is the AAA discount

I saved $100.00 by requesting the AAA discount when booking for 2 days at AKL for Feb 2006

My kids are gonna "freak" (in a good sorta way) when they find out where we're staying!!!!

Somewhere on codes and rates a diser has mentioned that her TA told her that AAA may be offering something else later this month for Jan, since Jan is AAA month at Disney . What this may actually means, is anyones guess I suppose.
Are there any TAs out there (or anyone else) who might want to guess what this could possibly mean (if anything)?

I spoke to CM this morning and he said maybe room only codes the end of November. I guess we wait until then.

I also called and was told that Disney probably would offer a room only code sometime this month. The package was released at the end of Oct The cm told me that they were going to offer something this month as well. She thought it would be the room only. So, my guess is also at the end of Nov. we could possible see something. Do you think they might do it the day after Thanksgiving? I just have this feeling!

Dh and I decided to gamble that there will be some sort of room only code for our trip in Feb. and we didn't book the pkg. The pkg. would have saved us $128 but we would have been under the pkg. restrictions and didn't want to have to pay a penalty if something room only came up. If nothing does than we are prepared to go with our AAA discount and buy tickets from ticketmania/mousesavers newsletter. We have a ton on Disney VISA rewards we will cash in as well.

But I'll be keeping my fingers crossed!
