If you have a room only one night and then a package starting the next day when does your dining plan become active? I mean, I know it is the day you check in To the second stay (in this case at a different hotel) but is it active BEFORE you check in so you can go straight to a park and use dining right away? What about tickets? The first stay would not have tickets attached. Some of the family wants to hit RD and go to our lunch reservations then check in to the other hotel later.
Thanks

1. when does your dining plan become active?

2. is it active BEFORE you check in so you can go straight to a park and use dining right away?

3. What about tickets?

1. The day that your PACKAGE stay begins.
2. If you use on-line check-in, and you indicate that your "check-in time" will be, say, 7AM, then yes.
3. Same.

You COULD even activate your park tickets the day that you arrive to stay at the other resort.
You can activate your WDW Resort Package tickets up to 3 days before your package begins.
To do so, just take your resort package info and a legal photo ID to any Guest Relations
outside any park, or at TTC, or at either GR locations at DTD. Tell the CM you'd like to activate your tickets early.
(You can't activate your dining plan that early, however.)

I was waitin' for that edit, Robo. :) I know your ways... (but at least you don't just say "first!")

So online checkin allows for the dining plan to be active even before you go to the resort to check in?

On-line check-in precludes ever needing to go to the resort desk for check-in.

Everything -room door latch (when the room is ready,) dining plan, park tickets- becomes activated via the MagicBands
on check-in day at the approximate time that you indicate during your on-line check-in.

Apologies if this is bad etiquette, if i may ask a question related to this thread rather then start a whole new one.
If we do online check in and our MB come in the mail (everything we bought is separate as we have DVC room). When we arrive on check in day (probably about 9am) will the room be ready? If we don't have the go to front desk how do we know what room we are in. Last time i was at Disney even online check in went to the desk to get key cards

You would get a text message or email notifying you of your room number. DVC places work a little different than Disney resorts in that they have 4pm check-in. There's always the chance your room will be ready at 9am, but no guarantees. When we stayed at BLT last year, it was actually after 4pm when our room was ready. But you can drop off your luggage and head for the parks, then wait for your room number text in the meanwhile.
