Room only for 1 night, then package

I have a RO booked for August 27, then a package for August 28. Do I have to do online checkin twice? I would assume yes. Also, anything I have to do to "link" the reservations? I know I'm not guaranteed the same room when I check out and back in on the 28th. Thanks.
