Room only discounts for Fall?

WooHoo --- I think I have a preliminary YES from DH on a Disney trip this year!

Early this morning when I booked the Poly I booked Thu Oct 25-Sun Oct 28. I thought maybe I'd see about adding Wed Oct 24 if we could get a flight that evening. No go - Polynesian is not available. So glad I booked when I did since it seems the discounted rooms are going fast!

If I'm viewing this correctly, does the computer apply the valid discount even if it changes while you are there. Wow - that sounds confusing.. here is what I mean.
I want to check into the Contemporary on the 8th of Dec which is the lower end of the discount, and then on the 10th the discount increases. I thought I would have to make 2 seperate reservations, but it appears the computer is applying the correct discount when I look at booking room only so it shows the price for the nights? Make sense?
Any one else have any thoughts?

You don't need 2 separate reservations; the system automatically applies the applicable discount %. Our dates cover 2 discounts --- Thu Oct 25 thru Sat Oct 28 (25%) and Sun Oct 29 (30%) --- and the system did everything automatically.

I have been playing around all morning and I cannot get any dates earlier than Oct 25. Thinking of doing a split stay, first half at POFQ but I wanted longer dates on the second part of the split....have to keep trying I guess

I was looking for this earlier today, but didn't see anything. Then the offer popped up on another page. I was expecting this offer to come out in October, as it historically has. I saved 20% off at POP, which has been discounted only 5% in the past. So, I'm . Any little bit helps. I had another reservation to change, but it falls during the blackout dates. Overall,. I was on hold for a while, they must be busy.

Poly 11/7-11/12- infact the TA said that the only deluxe available for those dates was Animal Kingdom and I would only save less than $100. Will stay with the Poly- love being on the monorail.
Maybe I'll get a pin code- I never have but I can hope!

That's what I thought, but didn't believe lol. I thougth it would be like free dining where it would give you whatever the discount was on the day you checked in - Bonus! Thanks for the reply.

So happy to save 25% on our room rates Oct 14-19. I was worried we wouldn't get any discounts at all. What we saved is usually what we spend while there. Woo Hoo!

You can just call and ask them to apply the discount. If for some reason they can't find it the code is H8J. But it should come up right away.

I called this afternoon and was able to get a 15% discount at Pop -- my dates fall in between the 20% offer dates, boo hoo. I'm hoping a better AP discount comes out! But it's better than nothing.

So the 2BDR BWV that I booked last January - no discounts available for our dates Dec 3-10. No real surprise there. But what did surprise me is that there are still multiple Studios and 1BDRs available. The Studios usually go really early.

So after much thought over the arrangements of the beds, we decided to rebook as a separate 1BDR + Studio. Which, of course, is all a 2BDR is. It's slightly less convenient in terms of beds and family arrangements so we'll need an air bed for DS10. But I saved $1100 so it's worth it. And if deeper discounts come out for AP, the new configuration makes that a possibility too.

I also got 5% ($200) on our split stay at AKV 2BDR Savannah view Dec 11-15, which was a nice surprise.

are you talking about a room only discount? You don't have to buy tickets with a room only discount. You can just apply it to the room and buy your tickets elsewhere.

Well, we currently have a ressie at BWI CL for 10/23-28. Just called, and spoke to a very nice CM named Sinclair. There are absolutely no discounts for ANY deluxe resorts on those dates. If I switch it to 10/25-28, then there is a discount for YC or BC CL, but no CL for BWI. Even if we wanted to apply the discount and downgrade to BWI Garden View for 10/25-28, that would involve 2 separate reservations. Stupid Gartner Symposium

As a backup, we also have a reservation at the Dolphin that I booked a long time ago, and it is much cheaper overall, so we might end up having to stay there instead.

are you talking about a room only discount? You don't have to buy tickets with a room only discount. You can just apply it to the room and buy your tickets elsewhere.

But if the PP already bought tickets as part of a package then they have to cancel the tickets and re-buy at the higher price. His is why it pays to always buy tickets separate and not as a package.

That's why we ended up doing last year. We love BWV but it was a last minute trip on a budget and the Dolphin worked out just fine.
