Room only discount question

Can you apply a room only discount to a package? Or does it have to be a room reservation only?

You can apply it to a package, but it will only affect the room portion of the cost.

You cannot---apply it to a package that includes --free dining--- as they will not let you use two promotions at once. OR let me explain that they would not ever let us do that. but to us with a lot of figuring the free dining is the best offer they have anyhow.

Free dining does not work out for our dates.

I'm hoping for a room discount but was wondering if I could make it a package and still get the discount. We do want the dining plan.
