Room only discount code club

I made another payment on my reservation today. Hoping Murphy's law will kick in now that I've paid for most of it they will offer the discount. Only $250 left to be paid off. I have till Aug 31 to pay it off, but really hoping for a discount between now and then.

Not familiar with how the room only discount works, or how it has worked in the past. Will it (when it appears :surfweb:) run only through the end of 2011 or cover the rest of this year and 2012?? I don't want to get my hopes up...

Mousesavers tracks when discounts come out. Based on that table, the discounts that would come out between now and October will likely be for 2011. Discounts come in date 'batches'

If I pay for my vacation and they come out with a room only discount, can I upgrade to a different resort or am I "stuck" with what I booked and paid for already???? :confused3

If it more than 45 days before your trip you can make any changes, though your room may not be available for the discount. Within 45 days of your trip you can make changes but you may be charged a change fee. I think the fee is $50.

Thanks! :thumbsup2

Thanks tltorrez and vinotinto! I appreciate your help. I lurk on the boards a good bit, but we usually rent DVC points or get bounceback offers when we're at WDW so I'm new to the whole discount game.

We have a room booked that we will gladly use, but who doesn't love an upgrade?? I will just wait and hope for the best. Thanks again for your help, and the heads up re: the allears discount history!

so with this convention going on they reserve a block of rooms at each resort which will screw us even more eh ! that really burns my butt just thought I'd throw that on here well because ............ I don't know because I can lol. Just read it on another thread, and ya I guess I already assumed that, but seeing it down in black and white just made it a reality bah

opinions please............ there is a flight sale on through airtran, just priced out the week before our dates oct 2-9 WHICH has free dining and found a reservation for the same resort for 2157 I paid 3200 with dining, even with paying the cancellation fee i'd save about five hundred bux. Now the thing is I have already purchased MNSSHP tickets for Oct 20th and done a group photo pass thing. All my ADR's would have to be changed along with dd's BBB appt, which i doubt I would get at DTD now either. Thoughts ? i give up on a room discount at this point and if this is the only way I can save some cash......... sorry for the caps sometimes it works sometimes not mostly on the I's lol

I'll bet you can get the BBB reservation you want. As for the group photopass thing, I'm not so sure. Maybe they'll be lenient and let you slide? I would. And you can call Disney and explain that you need to re-do your reservations because of such and such (tell them new job or something) and ask very nicely if you can change your MNSSHP tickets from the 20th to an earlier date. I'll bet that's even more convenient for them, because they tend to sell out closer to Halloween than earlier in the month.

Keep us updated!

Typically room discounts for the following year don't come out until late October, early November, so I wouldn't expect any announcement to include 2012...but it could.

That's the frustrating thing right now. Last year the room only discount for 2011 (or at least early 2011) came out in August. But I agree your timing makes more sense and I think follows the pattern from years before.

Before when room discounts have come out were there any restrictions? Like was it only on new reservations or at resorts with availability? I have a family suite at ASMU booked for 10 days and wondered how likely a room only discount will be available for that specific room or resort. :confused3

Hubby doesn't think he can move his holidays now......... just not meant to save any money it seems GRRRRRRRRR !

I have one date in the middle of my trip, Oct 2, that has no discount available. I moved over to Pop and am paying RACK rate for Oct 2nd, but AP rate for Oct 1, and BCV at the 40% rate for 9/28 to 10/1...
I'll be off property on Sunday 10/1 visiting family, and on 10/2 we have to take the DME bus at 10AM, so that is why we have a split stay. Why is 10/2 falling into a black hole for room only discounts?

Just as with any other discount, there will be only a certain number of rooms of each type at each resort available for a room-only discount. If all the standard rooms, for example, are already booked, they won't be able to apply the discount to their reservation if they have a standard room. They may have to change room types or even resorts to get the discount, and then they'd have to figure out how much that is worth to them.

(FWIW, I always end up spending more money with a discount, because my room isn't available with the discount, but I can't resist upgrading to something that otherwise I couldn't afford! :rotfl:)

Thanksgiving will be blacked out. Other than that, Discounts are always based on availability. The way I've seen it explained is that there's a percentage associated with each resort/room type. Once bookings hit that line, the discount is no longer available. If there are cancellations, it can become available again.

So it totally depends on availability your week. Last Oct I booked a Family Suite 5 days out and got the discount applied. So it's certainly possible. Good luck!

Haha, I think that is Disney's motive behind all this... To get people to upgrade!!! :rotfl2:

That is promising news! Thanks for the reply :)

Hopping in to see what comes along. We're happily booked with free dining but now my brother may be joining us and the free dining dates have changed so we can't book his room with the same offer. :( I'm hoping something comes along so that he's not stuck with rack rate!

I'm sick and tired of waiting, I have to make dining reservations, make ressies for my dog for a vacation villa at Best Friends and these things all depend on a room only discount, I can afford rack rate but I'm not silly enough to pay it as rooms are way over priced
($400-$500 per night at the Poly is ridiculous) by the time discounts come out I'll have to eat at a food court somewhere and board my dog elsewhere instead of Best Friends. Sorry just had to vent, does anyone agree?
