room only discount, add park ticket is it now a package ?

hi, we have seen a good room only discount for wilderness lodge, but we think we would like to add dining to the booking at a later date, we have been told its easier to do this if its booked as a package, so would adding a park ticket then make it a package making it easier to add dining, hope this makes sense, susie
