You have to have a ticket linked to your MDE account, along with your room reservation, in order to book FP+. You don't have to buy the ticket from WDW, but you do need to have a ticket.

Your ticket determines how many FP+ you get. IF you have a 3 day ticket, you get 3 FP per day for 3 days (for now anyway). It's possible to have a 2 night reservation since you can go to the parks on the day you check out. I don't it links the number of nights you stay to FP, just your ticket. IMO
With an onsite room, you can reserve FP+ at 60 days, without an onsite room, it's 30 days. You can book as many days as you have tickets. For an annual pass without an onsite room, max is 7 days.
Ok, thanks. I had a friend ask me (they are planning a Nov trip) and I wasn't really sure. We aren't going back until next June, so I haven't really kept up with all the little details.
since the price per day is so little between an 5-8 days ticket...could you get extra fp's by buying an 8 days for a 5 day trip....use the extra each day???
