My husband and I are planning on spending one night at the Royal Pacific (for the front of the line access) later this month. My college age daughter and friend are coming to the park with us the next day. Is it possible to get room keys for them even though they aren't spending the night, or would I be better off listing them on the reservation so I can request the room keys at check in? Do they charge more for 4 adults in a room compared to 2? One more thing, my daughters friend has an APH and said we can use it for our room discount--do you have to show it at check in?? Thanks

You have to add them to the ressie at check in. It is $25 per adult per night to the ressie. But it is worth the extra money!

You don't need to show the AP at check in but you will need to show it before check out. Sometimes they don't ask. Her name will have to be on the reservation for you to use it.

Universal does not check ID for students to see how old they are.

This would be cheating, unless your daughter's friend is staying in the room. Why would you think it's okay?

Why is it cheating?? My daughters friend is also a FL resident. She goes to Universal all the time but has never stayed in the hotels. She just got a brand new apartment and invited my daughter to spend the night with her, rather than my daughter staying in our hotel room for the night. Her friend is the one who suggested mentioning the annual pass as she thought their were some perks.
So are you saying we should go to the park the next day and my husband and I use our hotel keys and the 2 girls stand in line?? What about the people who book a room and don't stay in it--are they cheating too?:confused3

toget the ap rate on the room, you have to book the room with the ap.

meaning, you have to call or bookon line and indicate you are requesting a room that has the ap rate available.

you would show the ap at check in time.

Thanks for the info. Maybe I will tell my daughter and friend to stay in the hotel room and me and my hubby will stay in the apartment and just meet them in the morning. The only reason we are staying the 1 night is for the front of the line access. :goodvibes

I don't think it matters if you want to put them on your ressie so they can get passes too. Just be aware of the $25 per person charge. Some people book a room for FOTL and don't even stay there, I don't see how this is much different. Not to mention you can have up to 5 people to a room anyways so it's not like your adding more than that. Have fun! I may be mistaken but I thought the room had to be in the APH's name to get the discount but one of the homies...I see Mac has already been following the thread :)...will let me know if I'm wrong.

If all 4 of you want FOTL, then all four of you need to be on the reservation and have room keys. Your room key is your express pass. Also, all 4 of you need a key to get in for early entry.

I checked into something like this. Their names would have to be on the reservation to get a room key, which they will need. They do not have to actually stay in the room, but do have to be on the reservation. Also, to use the AP discount, the AP holder has to be on the reservation.

4 does cost more than 2, but that should be off set by the ap discount.

I do not think the room has to be in the AP holders name , as long as she is staying in it , or her name is on the reservation as well.
But like others said ,add them onto the ressie, get the APH rate and 2 extra FOTL roomkeys is a good deal at $25 each

Yup. The AP holder just needs to be staying in the room.

Thank you all for the great advice. I don't mind paying the extra $25 a person for their name on the reservation. The money we are saving with the cheaper room will offset the $50. :cool1:
