I am not sure of the best place to post this, it's been a few years, but I seem to remember people decorating their room and windows of their rooms for Christmas. Anyone have any advice on this? Or where to buy the little decorations?

When away during the holidays I travel with an artificial tree from a dollar store that’s about 12“ tall and has a base covered in burlap sack. I take any preexisting ornaments off and replace with plaid ribbons and/or eyelet lace trim (easy to get in narrower widths). The only ornament I use is a bird’s nest with marbelized eggs but that fits my home theme and is small enough to not overwhelm the tree. Sometimes you can find the little trees with a packet of appropriately sized ornaments included.
Have fun.

A tabletop Christmas tree really doesn't take much room in your suitcase. I used to bring one with us every year we traveled in December.

As for ornaments, places like dollar tree and hobby lobby have all sorts if minature ornaments for just such tiny trees.

When & where are you staying, and how are you traveling?

When? If during actual Christmas I'd be doing likely too much. If not I'd keep it minimal and fun.

Where? Determines if big windows to decorate, or sliding door etc.

How traveling? Determines your space to bring anything.

Values & Moderates it is easy to decorate your window. Flat clings pack flat in suitcase. Small lights you can hang with suction cups. Of course anything you want in the room. We did this for Halloween with Mickey Minnie Halloween ones. They make Christmas ones too. CLINGS

We once stayed a week at Bonnet Creek. We were having our Christmas with DD who was on DCP. I packed that 6 foot slimline tree, ornaments. Some decor items for counters and a blow up for outside on the balcony. We also had a 4 foot tree on the side table in the dining room but it was bought and decorated for a family who was coming to Disney on their way for deployment. They didn't have the space for a tree but their kids were small. I delivered it to CSR for them when they arrived. Room for lots just depends on what you want to do and how you are traveling to be able to bring it.

I'm going in a couple weeks with just DS & I but staying offsite. I think we'll spend most time in the parks so I'm not bringing any decorations. But if we were there actually during Christmas, yes I would be bringing decor.
