This will be just one of many ???'s I'm sure that I will have before our cruise!

I thought I read where the rooms do not have refrigerators, but something like a 'room cooler' or 'bev. cooler'? Is this correct and do all the rooms have them. We will be in a Family Stateroom.

Thanks!!

It's like the mini-fridge you'd find used for a mini-bar in a hotel room. Small and not very cool, but you can put beverages in it and they would eventually cool down.

Will, I would disagree with that a bit, in that I've been on 3 cruises. We've brought pop onboard all three times, and I drink it with no ice, and it was pleasantly cold all three times. I would say it works as well as these new portable coolers you can plug into your car. Not quite a fridge, but cool enough for cold drinks.

We put warm soda in the "fridge" and to our surprise it was quite cold. I wasn't expecting the soda to get cold, especially when you first put them in, it feels so warm and you feel no cold air, but they work.

We were on the Wonder 12/6-9/ 2001 and didn't know about the cooler. As a result, we didn't use it for anything. Probably because we were so busy with all the activities squeezed into a short 3-night cruise.
Now we are going on the Eastern Magic 4/19-26/2003. My question is anyone able to tell us if the cooler is big enough for a wine bottle or two? Thanks.

We found the cooler does work, except very sloooooowly. If you can't wait or if you want to make sure baby's milk don't spoil, you can help the cooling by filling Ziploc bag(s) that you brought from home with ice and placing them in the cooler. This is a tip I learned from here. ;)

I would not trust the cooling box to keep milk, but it did ok with soda, not very cold but not warm either...When I had milk for the babys bottles I kept it in the ice bucket in ice.

Some of the coolers seem to work better than others. We were in four category 4 staterooms (8054--8060) and two of our coolers stayed quite cold while the other two were warm unless they were filled with bags of ice. Since we had only beverages to keep cool and our stateroom attendant kept us well supplied with ice, this was not a problem...

Thanks for the useful information.

We were on the 7/13 Magic room 6576 and our cooler worked great, I put extra choc milks ordered from room service in the morning in there and they were kept nice and cold. We also put a bottle of wine in there that we got from our TA and it was also nice and cold.
I haven't had any experience other then that one (when I went on the Magic for the 3 day in 1999 I either didn't notice the cooler or it wasn't there) but I was happy with the cooler.
