Room Check-in quandry...

Well, my wife and I are going to the world in August. My parents who live in Boston are also going and we plan on staying in the same hotel (POFQ). My parents are going to book the rooms (to make it a little more affordable for us as we're newlyweds). Only problem is, we fly into Orlando several hours before they do. We planned to get Mears to drop us off at POFQ. Will POFQ allow us to check in, or will they want my father there to check in (as they'll be in his name)? If they won't let us check in, what's the best thing to do?
Any of you all ever do this?

hwen they make the reservations, they will ask for the names of the guests, your names will be on the reservation and i would think they would let you check in to one of the rooms, you could also have them note that you will be checking in before your parents. have a great time

Have your name added to the reservation. You can check in. You may have to use your credit card but there isn't any reason your parents can't switch to their credit card when they check in.

You might as well use Magical Express and save the expense of Mears. I'm not even sure Mears will be running to Disney. Their only customers would be the few people who didn't make advance reservations.

This happened to my Sister and her boyfriend in 2003. I made the reservation in her name, but listed him on the reservation also. We arrived first, then the boyfriend. My sister and boyfriend are pilots and she had to leave from the city she had flown into. Well her flight to Orlando was delayed and the boyfriend got to the hotel first to check in. They would not let him check in because the credit card the deposit was on was in my sisters name. He hung out with us for a few hours till she arrived. I was not expecting them to arrive at different times so I didnt note that on the reservation. Good Luck!
