Upon check-in you will be issued a Plastic card for each person in your group. These cards are your:
- Room keys: Used to open the doors on the room/s you booked.
- Resort ID. On the chance youre asked for ID (most likely to use WDW transportation or visiting resorts)
- Charge cards (optional). Get Front Desk to link it to your credit card OR pay some money onto it THEN pay for meals, souvenirs, services using it. Saves carrying wallet around (I would take some cash (for emergency, tips etc)). WDW has several levels of charging options so its best to enquire what would be best for you. You can have one or many Key cards linked to Charging.
Last September, Mum and I had charging and the twins obviously didnt. But it meant we could split up without any hassles over money or tickets.
- Park tickets (optional). You can buy Park tickets at Check-in and have them load it onto your card. You can even have tickets you have already purchased loaded (Some CMs can do it, some cannot)
- Fastpass dispenser (if park tickets were loaded). Youll need your card to get Fastpasses from the machines.
Pros: One card does it all. Allows big groups to go their separate ways. Allows you to leave the cash and credit cards (really good if visiting water parks or planning on getting silly at PI!). Can be reissued if lost. Each card can be 'customised' to each person in party (Eg Adults 7-PHP with Charging, Kids 7day-PHP only)
Cons: Waiting for all this to be loaded (took an 1 hour for our party of four at the All Star). Still needed to by E-ride ticket separately. Easily lost or forgotten. Embarassment when Charge limit reached (if using cash or 'limited' charge option)
