Couldn't figure out exactly where to post this, so here goes (figure it will be moved if I messed up)....We are planning on purchasing our tickets upon arrival at WL. I'm not 100% sure yet, but I think we will end up buying UPH. If I understand correctly, these are plastic "credit card" type passes and we can have them activated for charging purchases back to our room. What are the PH/PHP passes made out of, and can we get charging priviledges assigned to them? TIA!

Not sure if I understand correctly, but, you can put charges on your room key and charge back to your room. I guess this would also worj if you had a length of stay pass on yur room key also??

You are actually charging back to your room key, which is a plastic card. Your pass can be put on your room key also, either length of stay or park hopper. Your room key is also your resort ID and if you buy a package it also includes your package features. It's called "your key to the world". :)

I'm just going to move this to our resorts board for you :)

Oooops looks like I was confused, you charge to your ROOM KEY, not your pass. So, let me get this straight.....When checking in, I tell them I want my park passes (UPH or PH) put on the room keys along with room charging privledges. Then when I want to pay for a meal, souvenir, etc., I just show them my room key. I assume that this is what I inset into Fast Pass machines also.

Here's another question that figures into what pass we decide to get. I understand that if you loose your room key with UPH on it, they can issue you another one. It seems like they would be able to do this with PH passes also (when attached to your room key), but not with passes that aren't attached to your room key, correct?

Too many confusing details for my little brain!!! <VBG>

Upon check-in you will be issued a Plastic card for each person in your group. These cards are your:

- Room keys: Used to open the doors on the room/s you booked.

- Resort ID. On the chance youre asked for ID (most likely to use WDW transportation or visiting resorts)

- Charge cards (optional). Get Front Desk to link it to your credit card OR pay some money onto it THEN pay for meals, souvenirs, services using it. Saves carrying wallet around (I would take some cash (for emergency, tips etc)). WDW has several levels of charging options so its best to enquire what would be best for you. You can have one or many Key cards linked to Charging.
Last September, Mum and I had charging and the twins obviously didnt. But it meant we could split up without any hassles over money or tickets.

- Park tickets (optional). You can buy Park tickets at Check-in and have them load it onto your card. You can even have tickets you have already purchased loaded (Some CMs can do it, some cannot)

- Fastpass dispenser (if park tickets were loaded). Youll need your card to get Fastpasses from the machines.

Pros: One card does it all. Allows big groups to go their separate ways. Allows you to leave the cash and credit cards (really good if visiting water parks or planning on getting silly at PI!). Can be reissued if lost. Each card can be 'customised' to each person in party (Eg Adults 7-PHP with Charging, Kids 7day-PHP only)

Cons: Waiting for all this to be loaded (took an 1 hour for our party of four at the All Star). Still needed to by E-ride ticket separately. Easily lost or forgotten. Embarassment when Charge limit reached (if using cash or 'limited' charge option)

Thanks for such a detailed comparison. You don't know how much you have helped me!

Ooops sorry, first time picked the wrong emoticon!
