Room charges to Credit card

A simple solution is to periodically get a list of your room charges and when you are close to your limit, ask them to charge your card and that will re-set your limit.

I usually have in mind where I'm at in terms of being near the limit or not. The time this happened though was when I was charged another family's meal at Prime Time along with our own meal. The other family's meal came to almost $500 which put me too close to the limit without my knowledge. After going twice a year I kind of know how much we are spending and know when I need to reset the limit. This was a surprise! LOL! I now ask for an updated room bill every couple of days to make sure there are no wrong charges on the bill.

Erikthewise,
Well, the search function is disabled still, otherwise I would link you to the thread I started about this subject. But in a nutshell, I was at DTD, and a charge wouldn't go through on my room key- the register said "over the limit", and the castmember didn't offer to do anything, just wanted another form of payment. Well, I paid with the card that the room key was supposed to be charging on, and went back to the Pop Century front desk to find out what the official story is. The person there said that they had gotten a lot of complaints from people who had given credit cards to get charging privileges, but wanted to pay in cash, and their cards had gotten charged automatically. So she said the policy is now for the front desk to need some kind of verification from you when you reach the limit, that you want to go ahead and charge the credit card and start a new limit. She said the DTD castmember, however, did not follow the correct procedure, and if I had known the name of the person, she offered to get that person reprimanded for me. The castmember at the register is supposed to automatically call the front desk of the resort for you, if that message comes up on the register, to avoid embarrassment, and to have you verbally confirm the charge and start a new limit. She said if that happens again, to get the name of the person, ask to use the phone if they refuse to call, and to call the front desk yourself (dial 0 and ask to speak to the front desk of your resort), confirm the charge, and report the person who wouldn't call, because they aren't doing what they're supposed to be doing.

We stayed at AKL in December, and I had booked 2 rooms under one name. When we checked in, they took my credit card and my parent's credit card and put 1/2 the balance on each one. We did have to have all the charges made from our room cards put on just one of the charge cards, but they told us they could split it up for us at the end of the stay. The night before we checked out, we had them give us a printout of all charges, and we could tell by the numbers (each individual card had its own number) whose purchase was whose. I just had to highlight the ones we wanted charged to a credit card and give them that card. It was all very easy and efficient and didn't cause a problem at all.
