Room Changes and DP Questions

Ok, I am sure someone has asked this question in the past. Here it comes again (maybe) We are going to The World at the end of May. It will be our first trip as DVC members. We are using up our developer points from buying AKV. We will be staying at SSR in a studio for five days. We are then moving to a one bedroom for another two days. We are then moving for one night to Kidani one bedroom SV before we head out to VB for a couple of wind down days. I have said all this to ask a couple of questions.

#1, When we switch from a studio to a one bedroom how do we make the move? Do we pack up our stuff and put it in the car and drive to the check in and go through the process again. Or do we leave our things in the room and they move it from one room to another when the new room is ready? If so, do they do the same from resort to resort? SSR to AKV?


#2, We are doing the dining plan on the last three days. We have the plan for the 2 one bedroom days at SSR and then the one day at AKV. If I am not mistaken, you pay as you check in for the DP my question is. When we check out of SSR and in to AKV what if we can't check into our room until later that day. How are we going to use our DP for that day? Is there a way to combine our DP and pay all three days when we check into SSR for the one bedroom stay?

When you switch rooms....
You will need to pack your stuff and call down to have the bags taken out of your room and stored until the new room is ready. Remember you have to check out by 10:00 and the new room may not be ready until 4:00. But they will store it and move it up for you if you ask. But be prepared that if you leave for the day and come back at night the bags may still be in storage. But don't worry. Getting the bags out is quick.

When you switch resorts...
You again must pack your stuff and call down to have them take it and move it. Or you can move it your self. But you have to call down if you want them to do it. If you ahve a car I would move the stuff yourself. That is what we will do in July. It cuts out all the phone calls and chances we will be without our stuff for any legnth of time.

The dining plan is another story...
No, you cannot combine or pay at SSR. You must pay for it when you check in at the new resort. Which means if you want to use the plan on the day of your resort switch you will need to go over to the other resort to check in and get your new room key. Sorry. It is a bit of a pain when you switch.

Thanks for the info. I normally would not do so much moving around but We wanted to use up our Dev.Pts. and the combination of studios and one bdrms used them up to the last point. The AKV was added because we couldn't get ressies at VB until the 1st. But it was an added bonus seeing it is our home resort and we can't wait.
