Can anyone help me? I'm trying to get information on room blocking . I'm getting married nexted year on May 17, 2014 and I'm inviting about 40 people to the wedding . So I figured I would need about 16-18 room. Does that sound like enough? Also I asked about park tickets too so hopefully I can get a good deal. If anyone can help that would be so helpful thank you.

Hi!

The first thing to know is that you're setting aside NIGHTS in rooms, not rooms. So even if you only had 5 different groups of guests coming to your event, if they each stayed 5 nights, you'd reach the minimum number required to earn a free night for the couple.

There are a lot of other factors to consider, especially if you are paying to transport guests to and from the wedding—you don't want them to be all over the place if you're trying to save them time and you money. You might find this podcast episode helpful: it breaks down all the different factors to help you know how to divide up your block. http://disneyweddingpodcast.com/2013/01/16/demystifying-the-room-block/

The other thing to know is that you can always edit your room block right up until a month before the wedding, so it's OK if you don't get it all perfect right outta the gate.

Regarding the park ticket discount, it is just $20 off the price of a park hopper (and adding the park hopper option to a ticket costs twice that or more)—not great. :sad2:
