I am trying to sort out the best way to set up my room blocks and I am very confused. I only plan on having about 30 guests and not many of them are planning to stay on property. Any suggestions on the best way to leverage the room block plans for Wishes packages? I can't imagine getting 25 nights based on the fact that my family prefers to stay at the Marriot World Center as opposed to staying on property. We are planning on spending our honeymoon at The Yacht Club.

How many nights is your honeymoon? That will count. How many groups of guests do you expect will stay on property? Also, how long do you estimate they will stay? For example, if your wedding is on a Saturday, you might expect your guests to fly in Friday and depart Sunday, but if it's on a Wednesday, they might stay a whole week...

Say you're staying 7 nights; then you would need 18 more nights. If your guests only stayed 3 nights per group, then you would need just 6 groups to stay on property.

the first thing I would do is talk to your planner. Whats the worst thing that happens, they dont pay for a free night for you? I doubt it would be any harsher than that. Our planner even said to us that it isnt the biggest thing they worry about.

The way we got our guests to book on property was to expain all of the benifits they would recieve for staying in a disney hotel(magical express,EMH,etc) Plus the price isnt going to be that much cheaper for staying off resort.25 nights add up pretty quickly, Good luck.

Our wedding was at the WP and we stayed at the GF. We wound up with an escape, so no room block to worry about, but when it was all done, my whole family said they wished they'd stayed at the GF too because it woudl have been so much easier the day before and day of the wedding if they'd been there. Of course we were happy to be on our own some :rotfl: But convincing them that being closer to the wedding site at least for a night or 2 for convenience sake could work.
