I checked-in over the weekend at OKW. The guest ahead of the line got their rooms early and I was hopeful that I will too. I requested for a villa that is close to the HH and she told there were few and are now available. She then proceded to check me in. After she logged my info in she told me I can't have those rooms and that I was already assigned to the 4000's villa which is close to the farthest unit and won't be available until 4pm, she also verified this with someone inside the office as well. I inquired further on why I'm not allowed to transfer to available units. She didn't answer me and instead asked me if I was a member. She handed me the welcome folder and told me to check back later when room becomes available. I later got a 5400 room which is the farthest from the HH.

I decided not to let this ruin the day so I stopped inquiring further and took the folder and rearranged all my plans with the family for that day.

Is this how DVC is treating their member because we've already bought into the timeshare and they care more for cash reserving guest?

Wow Ed, unbelievable. Not only did they "tease" you with letting you know there were readily available rooms in the area you requested , but then make you wait for a room that was not even remotely close to where you requested. How is this a room ready policy (though I may have read OKW is not doing this)? But if they're not doing room-ready, why can't they at least honor requests ? Who were they saving those "available" HH area rooms for I wonder ? I think I would have asked to speak to a manager because I would have been curious to hear what their rationale was.
Hope the rest of your stay in WDW is better. We'll be at OKW next week.

By "over the weekend" do you mean on Sunday..the busiest check-in day? Perhaps the rooms that were ready suddenly disappeared when the Magic Express crew made contact from the airport and the rooms were assigned to them.

You're right Chuck....I had forgotten the ME folks seem to get first bid on rooms. I think I read a TR about BWV where a similar thing happened to a Member.
