3-5 days prior to your check in day.

While the room-assignors likely do it a few days in advance, you won’t know your room number until check-in day.

I have a friend who assigns rooms. She said she assigns rooms 5-7 days before your arrival. She works on the hotel side not DVC, they may assign on a different time frame.

We just checked in last Friday to AKL Jambo. Very simple. Flawless.

It makes no difference to your room assignment, as you can see above your room is assigned days ahead of time.

If you have a specific request, it never hurts to swing by the front desk before entering your room and ask if it was met. They can shuffle rooms on a limited basis with some approval after arrival.

I put in a request with touring plans and I will submit 1 to Disney as we get closer. I guess I was just wondering if it matters 1 over the other..
