Room Assignment

Hi~~ Quick question regarding your room assignment. New to this procedure:flower:

I already did on line check in. So we can by pass the front desk.

If we get the text that our room is ready and we LOVE it will they keep it for you even if you are at a park. Or will they give it away if you don't go to it right away?

Maybe, maybe not. Not everyone that completes Online Check In can Bypass The Front Desk. Nobody knows how they determine who gets to Bypass The Front Desk and who doesn't.

Again, maybe. It's rare, but even if you do get your room number texted to you it's possible you get another text with a different room number.

From everything I've learned by talking to resort managers, once the room number is texted to you, it would take an extraordinary set of circumstances for that to change.

Yes, it is rare but does happen. It's happened to us, my parents and my boss.

We've never done online check-in. Does that mean you just go right to your room when you get to the resort? How do you get your magic bands?

1. Maybe, maybe not. Not everyone that completes Online Check In can Bypass The Front Desk. Nobody knows how they determine who gets to Bypass The FrontDesk and who doesn't.

2. If you live in the U.S. your Magic Bands will be shipped to you around 28 days before you arrive. If you don't, they will be waiting for you at the Front Desk.
 
The only way we would change a room number after it was texted to a guest is if we found out something happened to the room. It has happened for example that a tub overflowed and we determined that all the rooms with the same number down a certain number of floors got flooded. Generally, it can happen but it is rare. The system that tells us whether a guest has used their band on a room is not 100% accurate so we can't switch rooms just because it looks like the guest hasn't been in it. Also, we would have no way of knowing if you got the message the room number had been changed.

Happened to us, too. When we stayed at BWI in August, I think we received three texts with three different room numbers. They came about 4 minutes apart from one another. We went to the last room number they texted to me without going to the front desk -- it was a king bed room for me and my daughter. Went to the front desk to explain that we'd prefer a 2 queen room and were reassigned -- to another king room. Went back and finally got a 2 queen room (and here I thought the king rooms were in great demand).
