Room and ticket package more expensive than separate?

I've been to disney a ton but first time in about 5 years. I'm booking 4 nights at the poly with a theme park view halloween week for 2 adults and 1 toddler (under 3). The room and ticket package comes to $450 more than the room and then buying two 4 day tickets separately. Any idea why? Is there some extra benefit to the package that accounts for the extra $450? We are florida residents if that makes a difference but these are regular florida resident tickets as the super cheap ones they have up now expire mid summer. The package prices stated they were also under the florida resident filter.

Dont forget that when the new florida rates come out they will apply the discount. Because it only cost 200 to lock in your room and ticket days I would as soon as possible because of the wdw anniversary you never know what could happen.

I'm really not understanding the price difference especially because you get a discount on the room as well. Maybe you should call them.

I booked room only and they charged me $1k to book but fully refundable if we cancel. I made sure to select 4 day tickets and that was the $400+ difference. I think I will call them tomorrow bc it really doesn't make sense. I haven't bought tickets yet but want to shortly so I can reserve MK days with the toddler, otherwise the price of the poly is pointless for us.

I spent most of today trying to figure out the pricing and discovered Florident Resident 4 day only tickets for peak holiday season dates:
12/26-1/1/2022 $333 plus tax versus the other special Florida Resident offer at $555 Plus tax...
It was definitely confusing and had to doublecheck but purchase went thru And already made my theme park reservations for holidays.
P.S. Somebody posted Thanksgiving Week is filling up for HS availability so I figured I better get NYE... the whole reason I am staying at BLT!

It’s likely yielding on the hotel room price. Disney yields their prices and allocates blocks of rooms to packages/room only/discounts etc.
