I was watching the DCL DVD last night and it said that some Cat. 9's have a queen bed and some have 2 twins. Does anyone know which is in room 2632? I would of thought that the DCL agent would of mentioned if there were twin beds when I made the reservation. TIA.

Hi, I could be mistaken but I thought the beds could be made into either two twins or a queen. I know when we went in February, my son stayed in the cabin with my brother-in-law and nephew. The bed was made up as a queen and we wanted two twins. They were able to fix it immediately.

At the risk of starting the arguement again, the cabins are all equipped with what are known as "California King" beds. These are all 2 twin beds pushed together which can be separated if the guest desires. Pushed together makes them the width of a king but the length of a standard or queen sized bed.

It seems that there are 2 kinds of king beds, one being longer than the standard, the other being the same length as the standard. I have a queen at home, and I know that the DCL beds are much wider than mine at home. You can't feel the separation when they are together...don't know how they do it, but it works!

California king is 72 wide x 84 long
Standard king is 76 wide by 80 long
Standard twin is 38 wide by 75 long

Trust me, we have a Cal King at home and the DCL bed is much narrower and shorter than our mattress. Poor S.O. is 6'4" and his feet hang over the end of the bed.......almost to his knees ::yes::

we stayed in 2632, just this past june, and it had the twins put together to make a king plus the fold down twin and a twin below the fold down

Wow you must have had different beds than I did then LOL...on both cruises there was a very noticable bump in the center...my daughter kept pushing me over telling me to sleep on the lump because she didn't want to roll onto it...it was actually really annoying and I will for sure be telling them to make it into two twins next time.

I too have never felt the separation divider in the middle. We've been on two cruises. I remember reading in one of Barb's trip reports that they had trouble with the divider strip on one cruise. I think it wasn't put in correctly.
